Hi all - My first post here - thought I would share.
I've had this '88 Wicked since ~'91. Hadn't ridden it much in the past 10 years, since I've been more focused on road riding, but now I want to get back into more mountain biking. As I was tearing apart the bike to see what components I could still use and what would be required to upgrade, I thought this would be a great time to breathe some life into the frame. Initially I was was going to take it to an auto body shop, and let them "have at it", but in doing my research, I found Tom Kellogg of Spectrum Cycles an hour away from my house. His work is simply amazing (both his custom built bikes and his restoration work). Check it out: http://www.spectrum-cycles.com/
Now, onto the bike... I'll simply let the pictures do the talking - I rode this bike HARD, and the before pics represent that (I'm sorry I didn't take a before pic of the chain stay - it was a mess!). But no longer! Not only is the new Orange Pearl paint gorgeous (better than original, since the decals are now under 9 coats of clear), the frame itself is totally restored. I can't wait to build it back up and start riding. A also had the Rock Shox Mag 20 rebuilt as well, so I should be a happy camper soon!
