I recently had my red 1985 Fat Chance, with original yellow fork, stolen:-( I need to determine the value for my insurance claim. I'd rather have my bike back, but hopefully I'll be reimbursed enough to purchase another ride because I'm aching to ride! Does anyone know how I might figure out the monetary value? Thanks

Pretty sure you need to ask your insurance company how they want to proceed...
If it's insured for replacement value, go to a bike shop and ask them to find you an American made XT bike. That's what it'd cost to replace. Not sure how they handle depreciation, especially if the bike wasn't scheduled as a collectible asset on your policy. Most insurance companies in Canada won't cover bikes over $500 without an annual rider. |
