Default Buck Shaver Dating Help

So, I've just picked up a new Buck frame for a refurb project. I'm a bit confused about it's age.

It's defiantly a NY built bike (welded bullet ends). It's got a 1 1/8 headtube. All things suggest it's likely a 97. But the serial is BSM2009. does this suggest it might be a random 1999 frame? I didn't think the Buck was available this late.

Any ideas?

Pretty sure it's a 1997 medium buck since that seems to be the last year for them.

Northern Dave,

i have an extra small Buck with an odd serial number as well. very late New York build with an 1 1/8th headtube too. since the serial did not help with the year - we assumed it to be a 1997 model.

I think it is pretty certain that serial numbers of NY frames do not indicate the year.

Keep your mudflaps down
