As many of you know the 26.4 seat post options are limited for the older Fats. I noticed these 400mm brand new alloy seat posts for $34 incl shipping and wondered if anyone has tried one? What's the quality like? Also no weight is listed; anyone know what they way?

They're probably just a Kalloy post. I bought a couple in black and in silver from ebikestop for like $20.00 when I scored my Monster. Then I found an Interloc Race Designs so that's what's on my bike now.

Or8 =Origin 8
http://www.origin-8.com/product_deta...cl1=SEAT+POSTS Different head than the normal Kalloy Uno / Uno 3D forged, probably made by them though. Says it has a forged shaft, I wonder if the head is just pressed into the shaft. I have had several(Syncros, Zoom) press fit ones turn when I crashed. Nice to have another option though.

I didn't say Kalloy Uno, I just said Kalloy, like this one.
http://www.ebikestop.com/kalloy_264_...t-SPST1205.php I have 2 in black and 1 in silver.

but covet a nice light weight post, think we could pool together and get LH Thomson to make us a batch of layback 26.4s?

I doubt it. I made a half hearted request of them to produce a few more 29.4mm posts in silver and they had no interest. Plus, in my experience group buys tend to be a nightmare of high interest and low commitment.
