Finally getting around to taking photos of my ride. I know it looks a little rough, but I think it looks right when it's dirty.
I believe it is an '88, defineatly a Monster, be cause my brother & I repainted it from the black frame & green forks. (The paint was left over from painting his '68 Impala Wagon!) Color is House of Kolor Kandy Grape. SN is 13268M. Traded a Klein Pinnicle with one of my old riding buddies in '94. It still had all the Suntour XCD drivetrain components on it & a Rockshox RS1. Current build is: Classic Deore XT (gold lettering) 2x9 with Paul's Thumbies White Ind. hubs/Mavic rims Sychros Pro Post/20 year old Turbo saddle King headset Conrol Tech stem & Bar Ends RaceFace Deus Riser bar XT V brakes & Avid levers Collecting parts to add a suspension fork (Marzoochi Bomber) but I think I might have to make a 1" steerer tube. On a side note, I remember reading in a magazine (MBA in '88?) an article about the Monster Fat. Their conclusion? A bargin @ $1000. Especially when a Wicked frameset was $800! |
