Well not all the bikes in the garage are American steel.:)

I have a thing for high quality Japanese bikes too.

This one is my wife's '87 MB-2 turned into a transportation bike. It was her off road bike until her Yo came along. The old school geometry and chainstay rollercams are much better suited for townie use.
It is a lock it to a post build: 1 x 7 with Deore cranks, thumbshifter, Cro-Moto bar, LX hubs, Raleigh Technium fork, Speedmax tires and full fenders.
A rack and some sort of basket/panniers/bags comes next, she wants to be able to ride to the farmers market on Saturdays but doesn't want to deal with pulling my trailer.
I took it for a post build spin that turned into a half hour ride, so I think that means it is a nice ride!

yeah that is nice!! I just passed up a 50's Sheapley Jet oveerr the weekend. had a rack and all.Even had the GoodYears still on it:D

sweet! last year, I built up a something similar (1992 Specialized Stumpjumper) for my fiancee. :D
