Just got frame back from frame builder who added the disc tab. Need some cleanup & respray.

I am doing similar and also thinking about something different for the brace - I didn't think of a chainring though ! :cool:

Missed this one earlier. Like how it's coming out, RD! I think there was a small company who used chainrings and rotors for their braces too. Smoke bikes, I think they were called.

pure curiosity, why is there a part of chainring welded? for stability? :confused:

Just some thing a little different from a tubular brace. I don't really think it's necessary given diameter and wall thickness of the seat & chainstays ~ but it looks cool.

OK, we finished putting it all together today and took it out for a spin around the block.

My son heads back to college tomorrow and was really looking forward to taking the YO back to ride with his buddies when the snow melts. I'm looking forward to him coming home for the summer so I can try out the dual disks on the trail.

The build is mostly XTR/XT with a RS Hydracoil fork.
