suspension travel '95, '96 Yo!

More questions as I approach the repaint. Victim is a 1995 or 1996 YO! serial YOL 1146 with what I think is a Judy fork. I am getting Walt Works to make a ridgid fork, but he needs to know what travel these bikes had back then. 60mm travel or 80mm travel. Is there a precise way I can measure the current fork to find out? The fork is unmarked so far as I can tell.

Measure from the center of the fork dropout to the top of the fork crown (the portion where the bottom headset race seats on the steerer tube). This distance will give you the axel to crown length and then Walt can adjust for rider sag (usually 10-20mm for the older Judys) to determine an appropriate length rigid fork length.

Walt does excellent work and will treat you right.

cheers,
