Bontrager Ti-Lite

Just recent acquired this little gem. Being a 97 this is not an older vintage bike, but it is a special bike of limited production, and the only other ti frame other than a Fat Ti that I have really ever wanted to own. Thought I would share some shots. Really nicely built, and supposedly a great riding single track machine.

Absolutely nice. I would keep it mostly as it is right now. Some parts could be more elegant, like the seat, stem and fork, but apart from that it is a really nice find. Was it expensive?

Thanks for the feedback Spikes!

I don't mind the Syncros seatpost and stem too much, athough something a little cooler would be nice for sure. A few select turqouis blue parts would really look great with the ti color and blue decals. The saddle I viewed as a replacement item for sure. I always ride Flites and thats what will end-up on there probably. A correct vintage ti-railed Bontrager saddle would also be an option, although those saddles never really fit me like my flites.

As to the fork, its a sub 3.0 lb Marzochhi air fork, and I do like the performance of Marzochhi forks. The purchase did include another suspension fork and syncros stem, and the fork crown has the correct Bontrager offset. Price was $1,500 shipped including the extra fork and stem. I might even consider going to a rigid fork, but not sure at this point.

Here's a few added shots including one of the other fork and Syncros stem.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have been doing lots of searches on the net and unfortunately the Bontrager info and following is not nearly as easy to come by as the Fat City. There is some decent catalogue data over at Retrobike, but other than that its pretty hit and miss. Its a testament to the die-hard commitment of an owner/enthusiast community such as FatCogs. Just about anything you want to know about the Fat City bikes can be found by running a search here, and if not there is always someone ready to share their personal knowledge.

Thanks again!
