yo fork question

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I have a 1 and 1/18th" steerer '96 yo eddy with a surly 1x1 rigid fork on it. Is this fork too short (axle to crown) for the frame? What length axle to crown should I have for what the yo was intended? I have a few other options in the basement: a rigid kona proj. 1 disc and v, and a rock shox future shox, or whatever the big S branded a rock shox mag 21.

Thanks,

Just saw that the surly 1x1 comes in three versions. I haven't measured yet, but think I have the 80 mm one. If I do need to replace I will probably have to get something stock just close to what will work best, so please recommend to me what I need to look out for. Thanks.

415-425mm axle to crown i would guess

i have two rigid Yo forks from that era, and both are 420mm in 1 and 1/8

when i run a bouncy shock i go for 80mm travel - sid or an ancient early fox which i believe are 18.25 inches long axle to crown, less 3/4 inch for sag
