Greetings,

I picked up a 92 wicked recently, and noticed the brake bosses were removed by the previous owner...

Are these paragon?

does any one know the size? metric or US, coarse thread or fine?

It looks like it takes a 2 piece system with a moon shaped washer to hold the canti spring in place

The 3 piece boss was originally made by Paragon for Fat, utilizing an ACME thread.

It is, however, not the same as the bosses now available.

I spoke with Mark a couple of years ago about re-manufacturing these for the vintage/resto community, and while interested, the numbers needed to make it a profitable venture for him were too high for me to just stick them on a shelf and watch them trickle out over the next 10 years.

I've made a few sets for restos but will not do it again as they are a time sink.

cheers,

rody

Hmm...

probably why they weren't with the bike to begin with

Would a drill and tap to a larger more common size make more sense?

dang!

Many larger shops that were around during the mountain bike boom will have a little drawer of bosses. I'd suggest asking around and trying to gently thread a few.

I found one a few years ago in a shop in Toronto after trying a handful.

Best of luck!
