91 Wicked or nah?

I recently purchased a frame from a local guy. According to him it is a 91 Wicked. Since then Ive been building on it and finally got it ridable now. However, the more research I do the more questions I have.

Serial number is 587W19. So it should be the 587th Wicked in 1991 and its a 19" frame?

But mine has a threaded bottom bracket and according to my research the wickeds didnt have a threaded bottom bracket until 93?

The paint looks original, there is one decal on it and it had the residue from the some of the other decals left (see pictures).

Any info I can get would be much appreciated, as I plan to eventually build it up with ALL era correct parts.

I'd bet the farm that is exactly what the serial number tells you it is.

Bottom bracket may have been threaded at a later date. It wasn't impossible to do.

My 2 cents is that alteration makes this a perfect rest-mod, rather than a period-correct candidate. The collars are kind of a defining detail.

The threads look raised from the bb shell. Looks as though it is made that way. Were there not ANY other examples of threaded shells in the year?

they were both 91's

Nice looking ride! Someone certainly could have asked for a threaded BB, but others can confirm.

What's this "book" you speak of? (Sorry I'm a newb, this is my first Fat build)

It's the original build book from the factory with serial numbers, dates and occasionally notes. It'd be cool if there was some story behind yours... Campagnolo build, maybe? No... that'd have u-brakes... Hmmm.

Anyway, hopefully jonsonneborn will chime in.
