Outstanding!

Okay now I am motivated to finish my Beast.

It won't look as good as yours, I don't have all the authentic bits.

Well, Yesterday was a lovely bright day here in the Forest of Dean, perfect for the Monsters Maiden vouage, however I was working ,so I went today, the wettest day of December, if not the year !!!!
Venue was the local trail centre in case anything fell off ! it didn't had a great run, the handling is perfect,I really did feel like Tomac as I hammered the tech sections and over taking the Trail centre full sussers gave me great joy .It felt very quick and responsive, couldn't fault it at all.The last couple of technical sections ,the brakes started to fade as the new cables stretched , so much so that I couldn't shed any speed  ,still point the Monster where I needed it and it was inch perfect :D

Very pleased with it,nothing i would do different, thanks to Dave getting a few pics.
Problem is I'm going to have to try really hard not to pull the Monster out every ride  it's certainly no garage queen !

Well after going on a Retrobike Ride at Cannock chase I have the following updates !

NOS brake pads don't work, the rubber has gone hard which meant I struggled to stop and as a consequence came off twice !

Also the chain snapped on me ( to much hard climbing )

so new pads are the way forward

Still a great bike to ride, Cannock is a trail centre, trails built for modern bouncers, around 30 of us went round a couple of routes on various retrobikes, kept up with the best of them, happy days

Old pads and probably canti's

I always forget they just don't have the stopping power as a V or disc brake...

also not as much control when feathering at a high rate of speed going downhill

the ride looks great though...

I hope all of us on FATCOGs vote for your monster on Retrobike this month...
