I am shocked and a little disappointed at the lack of detailed ride reports/reviews of these bikes from both owners and the mountain bike press. The return was a much-publlicized event, yet crickets when it comes to the actual bikes.
Come on people! |

Agreed. Is it too much to ask for just ONE unbiased review somewhere?

There have been a few ride reviews on FB. The concensus is that they have a lively ride, handle superbly through twisty single track and in many ways ride like the original Yos, which is a good thing. Iirc these reviews were of 27.5 not 29rs and top quality steel always ride so well.
I'm hoping for a full susser from them. |

Grello is still such an iconic colour.

I think it rides really well. I'll admit though i have not really "ridden" too many 29'rs to really tell them apart. What I can say is mine rides well, tracks well, feels good and is pretty lively. I've ridden some fairly tight single track that has a lot of turns. 29rs like to roll and in tight single track it's harder to transition the bike back and forth. Also slow speed rolling isn't that great. probably better than most. This is somewhat nitpicking and I don't think this is particular to the new Yo's, it's 29rs in general.
It's a Fat though. Has same feels and tracking and riding characteristics as those that came before. I would like to get a 27.5 next. Last edited by wesintl; June 3rd, 2016 at 3:19 PM. |

Should receive my purple (same color as the one on the blog) 27.5, size large in a month or so. I will post pics when I receive it. I saw that purple frame and said I gotta have one of those. Can't wait to get back on a steel hardtail. This will be my 1st Fat Chance.

...needs time, but takes form step by step:
![]() ![]() Currently we are working on the wheelset (black Shimano XT-Hubs, DT Revolution Spokes in silver, combined with black DT Pro-Lock Nipples and Mavic XC 821 rims). I prefer a classic look to make a bow to the colourful 90s-era ![]() More pics will come as soon as it gets ![]() Maybe you like it - cheers, Daniel |

Hi DocChill I just installed the Paul's seatpost clamp, what rear thru axle did you order from them? The 15x142xCourse 1.5?
Thanks |

I got my 2.1 built up last summer but didn't find much time to ride, hoping this spring will be better when work isn't so bust. I went with a full XT M8000 group including brakes, DT Swiss M442 rims laced to red CK hubs with DT spokes and red nipples, red CK bottom bracket & headset, Thomson stem bars and seatpost with a Brooks C17 saddle. XT T8000 pedals with flats on one side clips on the other that I really like. Lots of red anodized bolts throughout.
I was running a 140mm Fox 34 Float Factory and 2.2" Ground Control tires but decided go sell the fox last month and ordered a matching rigid Yo Eddy fork and am going to try a 2.6" Specialized Butcher up front with a 2.3 Butcher in the rear. I'm not sure how to post pics here from my phone but a few of you have seen it on Facebook anyway. Frame is a one off paint job, candy cherry up front fading to an emerald green in back with a nice lemon yellow at the transition. I ordered the fork solid candy cherry. Anyone else have the rigid Yo fork? How do you like it? I'm looking forward to the front end being a bit lighter and stiffer with a bigger footprint. |

![]() ![]() Although I love the Yo Eddy rigid fork I think, that the new Yo is build for a suspension fork. The rigid fork in a Yo 2.x looks much too long in my opinion. If you compare with an old one, you'll understand what I mean: ![]() Yo can see, that the new Yo is designed for a suspension fork - that's why I used a Rock Shox SID for my 2.0 ![]() Cheers, Daniel |
