First a bit about me, I've been riding for ~20 or so years. Live in New Mexico and have an abundance of great local trails, some suited for HTs and others "requiring" something a bit more forgiving. Since I was a MTB newbie during the CNC/anodized hayday I've always wanted a Yo Eddy. It was out of my price range back then so it was always put on the "keep an eye out for a deal" type of thing.
Well, this year was apparently my year to get one. On a random CL search I found a '91 Yo Eddy out in Santa Barbara. It was a rider, it had been loved on the trails for 20 years and showed it's age pretty well. After I got it back here in NM I now had to figure what I wanted to do with it. Full resto, restomod, just ride it...
Since it had a small dent in the TT I decided to repair then repaint it, and keep as much as I could (or could stand) from the original build. Other than consumable items being replaced with new parts, I swapped the seat, stem, bars, grips, tires and Headset for modern parts. On top of that I tossed the obligatory Ringle cage and Salsa skewers that I had in my parts bin.
The first three are exactly like I got it, the rest are the finished product. The color codes came from a post here, but my ability to perform a authentic fade are lacking. That said, I will be very proud to ride it.
