Thanks to Spikes for this magnificent frame, you can see he loved it
![]() ![]() (in truth not all are blue which looks blue in the pic ![]() They say Fat Chance titanium is the best bike ever! is that really true? I want to know it ![]() ..and this is why no grand experiments here, this should be just simple and plain build. Actually I think on a Fat Titanium belongs another fork as segmented (perhaps something like Kona P2 titan), maybe I'll let build a titanium fork like P2 but I'm not sure with the geo... we will see ![]() I'm also not quite sure with the Salsa stem, been looking for any ahead stem with noodle or integrated cable hanger (yes I know, there is not much choice). Sorry guys, not much update available. I'm busy a lot ...too little time.
I'm also waiting for a modified ITM ahead stem with cable routing ![]() and also looking for a few nice and thin 1 inch spacer.. Until then may I make you satisfied with a couple of boring pictures ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I hate this cable hanger ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by nader; July 9th, 2018 at 12:06 PM. |

This is the perfect fork for ths frame: it has a different rake than a Kona P2. There is no need to upgrade anything there.
I would go w/ v brakes because i ride my bikes, a lot, and v brakes are much simple, less maintenance than cantilevers/

My new stem
![]() ![]() ![]() I find it much nicer than Salsa and especially has the optimum length and angle for me. But first it has to go under operation (for planting a noodle ![]() ![]() (currently have no other tires!) Last edited by nader; July 9th, 2018 at 12:06 PM. |

How about trying better housing and the XTR cantilevers you had on it before...
![]() Maybe a Paul hanger? https://paulcomp.com/shop/components...-cable-hanger/ |

That power hanger you mounted on the back of your brake booster is made to be used without a cable stop i.e. the housing runs from your brake lever directly to the power hanger.

Apart from the stiff yet comfortable Ti ride, I love the welds on these and the unique external butted tubes. Fat City really made bicycle art back then

Hi guys,
This is a rare and probably a custom stem of salsa. ![]() ![]() It isn't an ahead but a quill stem with replaceable quill. A comparison with normal salsa quill stem ![]() ![]() Because the upper part of stem is thicker than quill, it is possible to assemble without threading on the steerer. With pushing bottom of quill against spacer you get the right tension on the headset bearings ![]() ![]() ![]() It works really fine and I'm excited ![]() ![]() ![]() |
