Well ,

Have another '91 Yo to build, this one has the press in bottom bracket, where my Aquafade is threaded.
This is going to be a quick build as its going to be my main rider. Then as time, money and need will be slowly upgraded.Im building this as single speed as I find my Wicked Single speed is my most ridden bike

Colour is stunning , floursecent and my poor camera does it no justice

so to the build .....

As mentioned going to be built with what I have lying around, Syncros post and bar in Black,Oury grips,Flite,as the frame is so bright, think Black is the best option, even considering throwing some blackwall tyres on
Going with XT V-brakes (shocker) but as this is going to be my main rider ,may as well have it as efficient as possible, besides I have period correct Fats to ride as when I feel the need !

The running gear is now fitted, Surly 34-18T set up, had to go with a tensioner, something I will change when I Can,just really need a Black 1" quill stem, Im waiting for one from the States as we speak, but been a while and not shown up , so looking around for another

Lucky dog to have 2 of those primo forks.

Bit of a shame about v-brakes, but that's just my personal preference for cantis speaking.

Paint is in really good shape!

I know what you mean about the V-brakes, but I have four other Fats running Cantis and I had these lying around,This is going to be my daily ride, so I'm happy to run with them as low maintence

The paint is in good shape , and cannot caputre just how bright it is !

Phase 1 complete ............. 8)

Really pleased how this came together for the initial build , the black and silver look great against the Grello paintwork.

Will give it a good trash over the weekend, but been out for a quick ride and it feels great :D

......and today I came off it ! unfortunately as often is the case, the brake lever chipped some paint off the top tube ,luckily its not thats noticeable, but still annoyed :( still better thrashing it around a forest than hanging off a wall !!! :trophy::D

Phase two ................

So now comes the tweaking for my perfect retro
First of all a pair of White Industries hubs, the rear being a Erics Eccentric Eno hub, hopefully if there are no alinement troubles, this will allow me to tension the chain with out the need of a tensioner.
For drive, a white industries Eno free wheel 18T completes the single speed set up , this is so nice its almost too good to fit ! and makes a very satisfactory click click noise
Finally a bottle cage , Ringle would have been the obvious choice, but i wanted something minimal and opted for a King cage, looks great (and seemed only right, owning one of Ron's previous Fats !)

Looks great. How is the chain line and overall fit on the eno hub. It looks way cleaner than having a seperate chain tensioner.

It's early days yet with the eno, but chain line is perfect and set up was easy indeed. You just need it tight enough not to come loose ( bolted to frame )tension was easy with just an allan key and spanner, brakes line up perfectly

will report back after a few more miles
