Marilyn Price is the founder of Trips for Kids, a bicycle charity that has exploded out of Marin County into 400 chapters worldwide. TFK takes inner-city kids mountain biking, an opportunity that they would never get any other way. TFK runs the Re-Cyclery, where kids are taught mechanic skills by repairing bikes, and where used bikes are sold or recycled into parts that sell far below the cost of buying new.

Every year one week after the Super Bowl Marilyn's charity event draws the elite of the Northern California mountain bike community, and that includes a lot of elites. For the first time this year the benefit was held at the new Marin Museum of Bicycling, which also incorporates the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame.

Chris Chance is now a resident of Marin County, and was one of several legendary frame builders present. In addition to Chris, attendees included Tom Ritchey, Joe Breeze, Steve Potts, Scot Nicol, Mark Slate, Ross Shafer, Bruce Gordon, Otis Guy, Don and Dave Koski, Wende Cragg, Jacquie Phelan, Denise Caramagno and moi.

Might as well plug my book, which was being signed by everyone in the building. It's called Fat Tire Flyer: Repack and the Birth of Mountain Biking.
