  • Hey Nate, Shawn here be met officially at Keyesville. Picked up my first non-NorCal bike, 1984 Fat Chance. Local here bought it on ebay in 2009 and never did anything with it, I now own it. Some knuckle head added yellow splatter paint over the original green paint. Thankfully he used latex paint and its coming off. Once it's off I'll post some before and after pics. Hope your doing well.

The guys at Monkey Wrench thought you might have an idea where I could get my hands on either a vintage Fat Chance or Salsa Moto bar for a rebuild of an 85 Fat Chance. Any leads would help.

    Thanks!

    yo-Nate,

Thanks. Well, I decided to roll the dice and try dealing w/ Chris Friedrich and hope he comes thru.

Thanks amigo. I'm ready to pick your frame up. We can sort out the parts/kit over time. I've been bidding on some 735/730 Shimano stuff on Ebay. It's amazing what these things are going for. Do you recommend a 7 or 8 speed build for this bike?
Have you had a chance to look at my message reference parts to go with your frame?
Sorry, this is the way mine came. There are some threads abut Monster decals you may have come across already. They seem to be rather hard to find. If you are going to do repro's let me know--I'd be happy to send a few photos to use as a template.
    yo-Nate,

Questionn for ya. Seeing as your 'avatar' is the "Fat" from a Monster Fat I'm curious if you know of any decals from that era Monster. I have a '91 Monster Fat that I'd like to restore and am in need of paint color code and new decals. Any chance you could help me out? I'm pretty novice at this.
