87 Fat Chance

This is my 87 Fat Chance sandblasted and rebuilt a couple years ago. Now mostly for commuting. purchased barely used in 87 in Sante Fe, NM for $400 & a very used Trek. Built new wheels, added stem/bars in '90. In '04 took it down to steel (found 2 holes filled braze filled where the water bottle bosses were drilled a bit too low!). Had new wheels built again. Added all new drive/shift parts Ti where I could. Splurged on Boone rings but in retrospect should have gone larger for commuting. Found an old set of Cook Bros. E2's. Rebuilt the Suntour XC pedals with new bearings, they are bomber. Had some decals made locally. Kept the bullnose I just really like them. Waiting for the tires to wear out and get something lighter but these are fine for the bike tracks around town. ope the pics show up

Glad to find this site - not alone in my enjoyment of these bikes!

Nice bike! I especially like the choice for the rear derailleur and the cranks+rings. Keep her in good shape!
